I have the right... to be an Idiot!

And if you ask most of my friends and family they will tell you I’m pretty good at it. I have never made any bones about how much I love this country. I’ve set foot on every continent on this globe with the exception of Antarctica. Frankly, I have no desire to see that become a reality. And this country IS the best place to live. I have many friends and relatives that either work for the great evil (KBR) overseas or that are deployed to far off lands and sand boxes. I did my time somewhere else.

Those that know my story know I got screwed. By me a drink and I might tell you.

But the one thing that has never diminished is my love for this country, what it stands for and the people who live here. I believe strongly in the founding principles set forth by the designers of this country. Christians, Zionist, et al. These men and women (there were women, they just weren’t talked about too much) fought the British and at times each other to bring about the freedom we enjoy today.

Unfortunately our governments are taking more and more of those freedoms away in the name of “protecting us” from ourselves. Not just the Federal government but also even our local governments. City Councils and other ilk of its kind feel we, as a public, are too stupid to take care of ourselves. To know what is and is not, good for our own lives. We are talked down to, lied to and kicked around purely in the name of “we know what’s best for you.”

Oh, and “For the children” is no excuse for bad laws, legislation or ordinances.

I say all this to bring up the point of smoking. I don’t smoke cigarettes but I do enjoy premium cigar. I enjoy them enough that I’ve learned everything I can absorb about tobacco. Now I’m not even going to try and convince anyone that putting a rolled up leaf in your mouth and setting it on fire is a good idea.... But I like to. It’s pleasurable to ME. I don’t think there are too many people on the planet that don’t know that smoking is bad for you. But when did it become the government’s job to tax me because I’m an idiot.

As far as I can find in the constitution they have no right to tax me for enjoying a legal product. Of course if you actually read Article 1, Section 8 of the constitution as it defines what the government's duties are, they do allot they are not supposed to be doing.

Tobacco taxes were designed to drive up the price of the product to “encourage” people to stop smoking. But they tied the money to healthcare programs. So when the price is finally too high and the only ones left who can afford to smoke are limo liberals. We will have to have a designated smoker. This person will have to go to a designated smoking depot. Buy cigarettes so the governments can get the tax money and then deposit them in a bin to be destroyed. So you can’t even keep what you paid for.

Smoking bans should be left to the individual business owner. If they would like smokers to be able to enjoy themselves in their establishments then it should be up to them, the people who have put their money into their business. Smokers have now been regulated to third-class citizens due to political correctness. Who are the second -class? Illegal Aliens. They now have more rights than smokers.

Libtard - “Cigarette and cigar smoke offend me.”

So what! There is nothing in the constitution of any government, State, Federal or Local, that says you have a right to not be offended by something. If I’m outside and enjoying a nice Camacho Corojo or a Green Label El Cubano and the smoke bothers you. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I was probably there smoking before you walked up. And I will tell you why you need to leave.

I am an offender. And I am a repeat offender and will offend again.

All in the name of... I have the right, to be an idiot.
